It’s been a really long time since I’ve blogged my work. I have always struggled with deciding what words to best accompany my images with. I’ve always felt a bit strange about just throwing images on the page and expecting that to be of value to any audience. As a result, I put myself under a lot of pressure to post images AND have something brilliant and worthwhile to say.
The result: me + posting nothing at all.
In the meantime, while I was spinning my wheels in Blogdom, I have accumulated dozens of weddings and other photoshoots that have never been shared. I would always say to prospective clients, “Sorry, my website is out of date, those weddings are from 3 years ago,” all while privately sending them more recent samples of my work. Also, I once laughed when a Bride said to me, “My fiance and I would prefer not to have our wedding images shared publicly following our wedding.” “That won’t be a problem,” I responded.
But now, finally after three years of hiding, it’s time to dust these off these albums and bring them out!
To satisfy my need to offer something useful, I will be posting photography tips along the way. So if you are a budding photographer, hobbyist, weekend warrior or a new mom with a new camera, subscribe to my updates below. I want to help you take your photography to the next level. I want to make myself as useful as humanly possible to anyone taking the time to read and view what I am posting.
But first, I am going to share the most recent wedding that I’ve photographed. It was such a beautiful day, and who could argue that the mountaintop backdrop in Bloomfield New Brunswick was a picturesque photo subject, following the beautiful wedding party or course. Jamie and Cassie were so lovely. There was no detail left out, and their laid back, easy going and comedic nature made the day extra fun for everyone involved!
