Will you pledge to support local farmers this Thanksgiving Weekend?

Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude for all the good things in our lives: our family, our friends, our freedom, our food and the people who make it.

I would love for you to meet by way of photographs, the wonderful people of New Brunswick who work tirelessly to grow food and brew beverages for you. Many, if not all of these farmers lead family-run businesses – they are fathers and mothers and sons and daughters, husbands and wives and entrepreneurs in every right, they employ your neighbours and they richen our economy.

From craft cider made in Memramcook to cranberry wine on Magnetic Hill, award-winning reds from Richibucto River and Champagne (although it can’t be called “Champagne”) produced in Cambridge-Narrows, a delicious Rose from the Kingston Peninsula and a Frontenac Blanc from the Belleisle that is bound to make your turkey dinner sing. Our region is abundant with local selection.

Please, please when you see these brands on the shelves of your neighbourhood Sobey’s, think of the New Brunswickers in these photographs and consider bringing their products to your table this Thanksgiving Weekend!
