The Truth About Marriage

kelly lawson new brunswick photographerThis week I was reminded of the teamwork of marriage. The past few days were packed with evening work commitments, parenting woes, anxiety, swimming lessons, and piano lessons. It felt like we were handing off the baton to one another as we got our work done, ran from place to place, tackled appointments, washed dishes, ran to the grocery store, cooked late night dinners, spent some time together, turned on the Roomba, ran errands and cuddled a little. It was far from glamorous, it really felt like we spent the week just trying to get by.

And, the weekend brings about more work, more kid commitments, and more errands. Today as I ran out the door for the 300th time, Jeff stopped what he was doing to look at my distraught busy face and say, “I love you.” ⠀

I am so thankful to be in this crazy, not always glamorous, “the garbage is full again” life with a man who supports my dreams, pours the tub for me when I am stressed out and pushes me to be the best version of myself. ⠀

We get so caught up in the day to day rat race that we forget to acknowledge the people in our lives that are there to support us and be by our side. Please remember to thank that person in your life today. I promise it will make today a little brighter for both of you!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
